I have made some amazing discoveries about the Elijah Rodgers family since I first created this Web Page. It seems that the Elijah Garner Family left Seiver County, TN between 1874 and 1876 and went to wise County, TX, changing their last name to Rodgers. Any persons interested in the details of this can e-mail Ramona Wagnon at soup@simplynet.net for details. Because of these discoveries I have changed the first generation information on this page. Other changes and additions will be made in the near future.

4. John Robert² Rodgers (Elijah¹) was born 4 March 1850 in TN, USA, and died 27 October 1936 in Wilson, OK, USA. He married Dica A. Perrin 1878 in Wise Co., TX, USA, daughter of Charles Perrin and Mourning Finley.

6. Minnie Harriet³ Rodgers (John Robert², Elijah¹) was born 2 March 1879 in Wise Co., TX, USA, and died 10 September 1948 in Comanche, Stephens Co., OK, USA. She married (1) Thomas C. Cummins 24 April 1898 in Dennison, Grayson Co., TX, USA. She married (2) Joseph Calvin Elledge 28 September 1905 in Bonham, Fannin Co., TX, USA, son of William Elledge and Sarah Burnes.

7. William Leslie³ Rodgers (John Robert², Elijah¹) was born 2 March 1879 in Wise Co., TX, USA, and died 31 August 1967 in Duncan, Stephens Co., OK, USA. He married Sallie Rosgund Hall 20 July 1919 in Atoka, Atoka Co., OK, USA.

Notes for William Leslie Rodgers: His wife Sallie had written in their family Bible that his name was Max Lee. He must have just changed his own name as he was born with the name William Leslie. He appears so on the 1880 Wise County, Texas Census.He and Sallie are buried in Fairlawn Cemetery, Comanche, OK.

17 iii. Wylie Wallice Rodgers, born 28 December 1923. He married Betty Helen White 11 July 1949 in Slaton, TX, USA.
18 iv. Thelma Lee Rodgers, born 19 May 1925. Thelma Lee died 2 May 1927.
19 v. Martin Luther Rodgers, born 27 March 1926.
20 vi. Clayborn (Fat) Rodgers, born 5 August 1927. He married Patsy Jean Bewley 24 May 1952 in Duncan, Stephens Co., OK, USA.
21 vii. Bessie Faye Rodgers, born 29 November 1929.

8. Emma O.³ Rodgers (John Robert², Elijah¹) was born 24 December 1881 in Wise Co., TX, USA, and died 18 March 1965 in Telephone, Fannin Co., TX, USA. She married Clebe Sanders.

Children of Emma Rodgers and Clebe Sanders are:
